Online card spend figures revealedApril 10, 2015
New figures now available show that in January, 30% of the value of all card spend was made online. This means that of the £46.5bn spent, £15.4bn was spent via the internet (The UK Card Association).
With the increased use of smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices, online shopping is now more common. The figures reveal that consumers spent twice as much online as they do in-store (average transaction value £96.10 and 46.53 respectively), with 27% of all online purchases being made in the Entertainment sector.
